PADI Open Water course
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the most popular and internationally recognised dive program in the world! In as quick as 3 days you can have your own ticket to an amazing underwater adventure!
The PADI Open Water course is designed for non-divers who have little or no experience scuba diving who want to learn to dive and become a certified diver and explore the worlds oceans! During the course you will learn a whole new range of skills ensuring that you become the safest, competent diver you can be! Learning to dive is a lot of fun and you will experience incredible things! Throughout the course you will make at least 5 confined dives and 4 open water dives under the supervision of your PADI instructor.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, you can take part in the PADI Open Water course from 10 years old.
10 - 14 year olds will receive a Junior Open Water certification
Are there any prerequisites?
No! Anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit and comfortable in the water can become a PADI Open water diver!
How long does the PADI Open Water course take?
In as quick as 2 days you can complete the Open Water course if you complete the e-learning theory before arriving in Lanzarote. Alternatively you can study the theory in our classroom and you can complete the PADI open water course in 3 days.
Can I complete the theory before I get to Lanzarote?
Yes! You can complete the theory online. With the e-learning you can complete all the theory online, that way when you arrive in Lanzarote you can jump straight into the water! Alternatively with the digital manual you can start reading the manual before you arrive but still complete the theory when you get here.
What does the PADI Open Water course involve?
During the 3 days you will complete 5 knowledge development sections by watching the PADI open water DVD. After each chapter you will then complete the knowledge reviews and quick quizzes. Your PADI instructor will teach you a series of skills on the 5 confined water dives. Then you will complete 4 open water dives where we repeat some of the skills that you learnt on the confined water dives and then explore the different dive sites in Puerto Del Carmen and practice your buoyancy control!
After the PADI Open Water course what will I be qualified to do?
On completion of the PADI Open Water course you will be a qualified PADI Open Water diver and can dive to 18m with a buddy. A certification card will be sent to you by post.
(10-11 year olds will be certified to 12m and must dive with a parent, guardian or PADI professional. 12-14 year olds must dive with a certified adult diver)
