Can I complete the theory before I get to Lanzarote?

All our packages include online theory so you can get started before you arrive in Lanzarote. You just need a tablet or computer. The Bronze package includes the digital manual, so you can start reading the manual before you arrive but you complete the video and quizzes in the classroom when you arrive in Lanzarote. The Silver and Gold packages include the Open Water Touch. This allows you to complete all the theory before you arrive, saving you a day in the classroom. Completing this option means when you arrive in Lanzarote you can jump straight underwater and you can complete the water work for the open water course in only 2 days!

What are the confined water dives and open water dives?

The confined water dives we complete in the shallow water of Playa Chica. During these sessions you will learn a wide range of basic dive skills such as setting up your gear, clearing water from your mask, buoyancy control and recovering your regulator. You also practice some emergency skills, like sharing air (just in case). By the time we’re done, you’re ready to hit the ocean with a splash!

After your confined water fun, you will make five open water dives (Note: the course only requires 4 open water dives, we throw in 1 more dive for free!) over the course of 2 days with your PADI Instructor. When we say “open water”, we mean the beautiful blue ocean! You start shallow and gradually go deeper. The maximum depth in the course is 18 meters. Now you can experience real underwater adventure! We explore some of the amazing dive sites from Playa Chica.

I'm not a great swimmer. Can I still learn to dive?

Yes! As scuba divers we wear fins and a BCD (a jacket which you can fill with air), so there’s not much need for normal swimming. There is however a swimming test to make sure you are happy in the water. You need to be able to swim 200 meters or 300 meters with mask, snorkel and fins. There is also a 10 minute float test. In general you should be comfortable in the water and you should be fit and healthy with no medical issues.
