How long does it take to complete the PADI open water course?
3 days. Although you can complete it in 2 complete days if you complete all of the theory via the e-learning before you arrive in Lanzarote.
How deep can I dive with the PADI Open Water?
As a PADI Open Water Diver, you will be trained to dive to a maximum depth of 18 metres (60 feet) and are qualified to dive in conditions as good as, or better than those in which you are trained.
Is the PADI Open Water Certification valid forever?
Yes! Although if you don’t dive for a long time you would need to complete a refresher course such as the PADI ReActivate, just to refresh your diving skills and knowledge before heading out on your next fun dive.
How much does the PADI open water certification cost?

How old do you have to be to take the PADI Open Water course?
You can start the Open Water course at 10 years old. 10-15 year olds receive a Junior certification, so they must dive with an adult until they turn 15 when it automatically upgrades to the adult version. Also 10-11 year olds can only dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres.
Once I am qualified as a PADI Open Water Diver, can I dive alone?
Once you have passed the Open Water course, you are a certified diver and you can dive with another certified diver.
I’m not a strong swimmer, can I still learn to dive?
You don’t have to be a strong swimmer to learn to dive, however you need to know the basics. During the PADI open water course you will complete a 10 minute tread water and 200 metre swim or 300 metre snorkel.
