Antigen Testing Accepted in the Canary Islands

We have some exciting news! The Canarian government have just announced that the antigen test is to be accepted from tomorrow (10th December 2020) The BOC is expected tonight to put it into law.

What does that mean?

Since November the Spanish government has required PCR testing within 72 hours before arriving in Spain. The Canarian government has just announced that the antigen test is sufficient. This is the faster test that can be tested in as quick as 1 hour and is much cheaper than the PCR test.

They have also provided us with a list of laboratories and authorised centres that are testing in a number of countries.

Hopefully we will have more countries available soon!

We are so excited to hear this news. Here in Lanzarote we are having a great time diving. A huge congratulations to Nino and Vera who have just passed their PADI Scuba Diver Course. Nicolai has passed his PADI Open Water Course and Sophie has just passed both her PADI Open Water and Advanced  course!

Also during this past weekend we have just finished participating in Count the Angel Sharks alongside the Angel Shark Project. We were fortunate to see angel sharks on 2 out of the 3 days that we were diving! It was a great event and dive centres across Lanzarote, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria took part. Counting the angel sharks over 4 days to get an idea of the angel shark population.

The diving conditions are great. The water temperature is 20-21 degrees right now and the average visibility is 20-25 metres.

Visit Lanzarote for the water sports, choose from scuba diving, surfing and kite surfing

We hope you are safe and well where you are and that the news of antigen testing being accepted in the Canary Islands sways you to book a holiday to Lanzarote in 2021!
See you underwater in Lanzarote soon!
