Experience the thrill of scuba diving in only 2 hours and earn the SSI Try Scuba recognition card! Taking place at Playa Chica, you will get to explore the beauty of the underwater world here in Lanzarote under the direct supervision of your diving instructor.
Our try dives are perfect for your 1st time diving. They are done directly from the beach – meaning you do not have to worry about getting on/off a boat or sea sickness! We keep our groups small to ensure that everyone has a great time underwater!
During your Try Scuba Dive, your instructor will give you a detailed briefing so you know exactly what to expect. We will then find a wetsuit, mask, fins and boots that fit you. We will then stroll down to Playa Chica where we will put the equipment on and walk into waist deep water. We will practice the breathing and when you are comfortable we will go underneath the water where we will practice 3 skills with you. We will then go for a dive to 5 metres for 30-40 minutes. Along the way we will stop off along the way and see the different fish Playa Chica has to offer. You may see sea bream, parrotfish, damselfish, flounders, ornate wrasse.

Spend an afternoon scuba diving. First completing the Try Scuba 5 metre dive in Playa Chica bay. Afterwards we will change your cylinder and give you another briefing where we explain to you about buoyancy control so that during your second try dive we can get you up off the bottom, swimming around amongst the fish!
During the second try dive we will go down to 12 metres, along the Harbour Wall. Exploring for around 35-45 minutes. Sometimes we see seahorses and stingrays on this dive!
Also included in our basic diver package is photos of you underwater! The best souvenir of your holiday! After your dive we will transfer your photos to you online so you can share your underwater selfies and pictures of diving in Lanzarote with who ever you choose!

Do you want to experience some more? You can dive Punta Tiñosa with your SSI instructor. After completing the Basic Diver package, the next day we will take you out on our boat, it will take around 10 minutes to arrive at Punta Tiñosa. This is one of our most popular dive sites, known for its stunning volcanic formations and abundance of marine life.

Yes! We will see plenty of fish during your dives. Some of the fish you can see during your dive include: salema, damselfish, flounders, parrotfish, wwevers and ornate wrasses. Sometimes if we are lucky we can also see cuttlefish, seahorses, sea stars, arrowhead crabs, nudibranchs, octopus and stingrays.
No, this dive is designed for people who have never experienced scuba diving before. We will do the entire experience at a relaxed pace, ensuring you are comfortable throughout the diving experience.
Yes, you can bring your own camera. Your instructor will let you know when you can use it during the dive. Your instructor will also have 1 of our GoPro 10’s with us taking quality photos too!
We do the Try Scuba Dive in small groups, so we recommend booking at least 1 week beforehand, especially if you have a particular date that you would like to dive.
Yes! As long as you have good health you can try scuba diving!
Conditions that are incompatible with scuba diving:
- Cardiovascular disease.
- Diabetes.
- Epilepsy.
- Pregnancy.
No. As long as you are comfortable with your face in the water you don’t need to be a strong swimmer to try scuba diving. While you are scuba diving you will be wearing fins. Additionally on the first time diving we stay in contact with the sandy bottom for the whole dive.
We do the dives from Playa Chica bay, just 2 minutes walk from our dive centre. We put the wetsuits on, stroll down to the beach, pop the equipment on and walk into the water and off we go! Playa Chica is the best spot for diving in Lanzarote, as it has the biggest variety of marine life!

Yes, you can eat as normal. Just make sure you aren’t too full so that you are comfortable wearing the wetsuit!
For all dives we meet at our dive centre to complete the paperwork and prepare equipment for the dive. The address of the dive centre is Calle Tenerife 2, Puerto Del Carmen, 35510. If you are driving we recommend parking in the Harbour Car Park, it is only a 2 minute walk from the dive centre.
No, after going diving you must wait at least 12 hours before flying home. We recommend booking your try dive for the beginning of your holiday so that in case you want to do another dive you have plenty of time!
Yes! If you enjoy yourself and would like to continue on the SSI Scuba Diver or SSI Open Water course with us in the next 6 months we can credit your SSI Basic Diver towards the course. If you continue onto the course with us we will give you 50€ discount off the course price.
