Frequently Asked Questions about Diving in Lanzarote

about Diving in Lanzarote and accommodation

In an effort to provide as much information as possible, we have included answers to some of the more general questions we receive. Feel free to contact us anytime if you don’t see the answer to your question or would like more information.

Diving Lanzarote

We believe that the quality of service we offer is second to none. Also, although many dive centers in Lanzarote accept large diving groups, we set a maximum of 8 divers per guide. We truly believe in quality over quantity. We understand that we cannot please everyone, but that does not stop us from trying. Check out some of our guests’ comments and see what our divers have to say about their experiences with Manta Diving Lanzarote.

You are required to fill in the self declaration medical from the WRSTC. Depending on your answers depends if you need a medical certificate from a doctor.

If you can answer no to all the questions on page 1 you don’t need a diving medical from a doctor

If you can answer a yes to questions 3, 5 or 10 or any of the questions on page 2 then you need to get a diving medical.

Rain is very rare in Lanzarote. However, even if it rains, it is not a problem for divers. It doesn’t affect the diving conditions and we are going to get wet anyway!

Our biggest concern is the wind direction. Generally south winds are not divers friends in Lanzarote.

If the conditions are not safe and we are forced to cancel, you will not be charged and any deposits for diving made will be gladly refunded. We will do our best to notify you as soon as possible if the weather prevents our dives.

The best wind forecast we have found for Lanzarote is the wind finder.

Yes, we highly recommend booking your dive in advance before arriving in Lanzarote, as we like our dive groups to be small.

Also, if you book a package of 6 dives or more, you will also receive a free nitrox with your dive package!

No, our meeting point is at the dive centre. You need to make your own way directly to us.

Transport is only included to the dive sites, so if we are diving at the underwater museum for example we will transport you there from the dive centre.

Accommodation and Airport Transfers

We recommend staying in Puerto del Carmen. There is a large selection of accommodations on offer depending on what you are looking for. Studios, 1-bedroom apartments, 2-bedroom apartments, villas and hotels are available. If you are not quite sure what you are looking for, we recommend that you check Booking.com and Airbnb. Enter Puerto del Carmen and your dates and filter the options.
There are 2 hotels near the dive center that offer great rates to our divers.
Costa Volcan Spa
The Costa Volcan Spa is next to the dive center. All rooms are 1-bedroom apartments and can accommodate 3 people with the third person on the sofa bed. It is useful for diving as you can return to your room between dives. Only available as self-catering accommodation.
THB Flora:
THB Flora is a 10 minute walk down the road. They have a couple of pools on site, as well as restaurant and supermarket. Available services include: room only, bed and breakfast, half board and all inclusive. This is a great hotel for families. Younger children especially love the entertainment and there is also a water park.
If you want a quote for any of the hotels, let us know on what dates you are looking to come to dive in Lanzarote and what type of service you would like and we will ask you for a price.

Self-catering Studio Apartments

If you prefer a self-catering studio apartment get in contact with Nicole at Sol Properties. She manages a number of apartments in the San Francisco II complex in the old town, just 5 minutes walk from our dive centre. If you tell her we referred you, she will let you know what she has available in the nearby area.
