The SSI Scuba Skills Update program is the perfect way to get you back underwater safely after a break from diving. Complete the theory online and then we will take you for a skills dive to increase your confidence and get you back underwater diving safely!
1. Theory
Dive in! No matter which agency you originally certified with, you can complete the Scuba Skills Update with SSI. The theory is completed with the SSI app and you can complete it all online before you arrive in Lanzarote. Refresh your knowledge on how to use the equipment, safety rules and what to do in an emergency. By the end of the refresher program you will feel like a safe diver again!
2. Skills Dive
When you arrive at the dive centre, your SSI instructor will take you through setting up the equipment, give you a thorough briefing explaining what you will be doing during your Scuba Skills Update. Then they will take you for a skills dive in confined water in Playa Chica bay. During this dive you will refresh the basic skills including mask clearing, out of air situations and buoyancy control. After you have completed the skills we will go for a shallow dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres, allowing you time to practice your buoyancy control so that you feel comfortable during the rest of your fun dives.Â
We do the Scuba Skills Update refresher course in Playa Chica bay, you are surrounded by the fish while you practice your skills and as soon as you are finished we can go off and explore our dive sites!
