I'm not a great swimmer. Can I still learn to dive?
Yes! As scuba divers we wear fins and a BCD (a jacket which you can fill with air), so there’s not much need for regular swimming. There is however a swimming test to make sure you are happy in the water. You need to be able to float/tread water for 10 minutes and swim 200 metres or snorkel 300 metres. In general you should be comfortable in the water and you should be fit and healthy with no medical issues.
How long do I have to wait before flying after diving?
For 1 dive you must wait at least 12 hours before flying. For multiple dives you must wait at least 18 hours before flying.
REVIEWS OF OUR PADI OPEN WATER COURSE
PADI Open Water Certification! I felt very lucky to be 1-2-1 with Rachel in my course! She made my open water course not only enjoyable and extremely beneficial but also fun and challenging at the same time. She gave me faith in myself and wouldn’t let me give up until I did what I came here to do... Pass my diving course. I breezed through the PADI open water course in 2 days all thanks to Rach and we got out to complete some awesome dives! I came away with some brilliant photos too from my silver package thanks to Rachel’s amazing photography skills! I cannot recommend Manta Diving Lanzarote and Rachel enough along with all the staff who were extremely friendly, helpful and professional. I was so impressed and so pleased with Manta Diving Lanzarote and myself that I’ve already booked my Advanced Open Water Course for when I return.
We had lots of fun during our Open Water Diver course. The trained and certified diving instructors are great and take much care of their pupils and teach them all the skills needed. Besides having to study, you also can enjoy the underwater world. We'll definitely continue with the Advanced Open Water Diver and, maybe, with the Deep Diver as well.
