Scuba divers look up to divemasters because they are leaders who mentor and motivate others. As a SSI divemaster, you not only get to dive a lot, but also experience the joy of seeing others have as much fun diving as you do.
The SSI Divemaster course is your first level of professional training. Working closely with a SSI Instructor, you’ll fine-tune your dive skills, like perfecting the effortless hover, and refine your rescue skills so you anticipate and easily solve common problems. You’ll gain dive knowledge, management and supervision abilities so you become a role model to divers everywhere.
As a SSI Divemaster, you’ll lead others as you supervise scuba diving activities and assist with diver training. SSI Divemasters are respected dive professionals who are aligned with one of the largest and most respected dive organization in the world – SSI.
Duration:
6 weeks.
Minimum Age:
From 18 years old you can complete the SSI Divemaster Course.
Pre-Requisites:
40 logged dives
CPR and first aid from within 24 months
Oxygen training from within 24 months
Diver Stress and Rescue
What is
Frequently Asked Questions about the SSI Divemaster Course
You just need to bring:
Doctor’s certificate dated within the past 12 months stating that you are fit to dive.
SSI Open Water, Advanced open water, Diver Stress and Rescue and First Aid and CPR certifications (such as React Right)
Diving Insurance that covers you for personal accident and search and recovery.
Personal diving equipment including Mask & Snorkel, Wetsuit, Boots, Fins, BCD, Regulators and Dive Computer.
If you don’t have your own diving equipment you can rent it for 200€ for the course duration. However you must have at least, mask, snorkel and dive computer. If you would like to purchase anything get in touch as we offer great deals with Aqualung and Apeks.
Yes, you need to show us on your first day your insurance certificate and policy wording showing that scuba diving is covered to at least 30 metres. It needs to show cover for personal accident and search & recovery. If you don’t have sufficient insurance we can arrange it with DAN Europe for 35€ for 365 days.
The Divemaster course is completed over 6 weeks allowing you plenty of time to develop as a Divemaster Trainee and get the most out of your training.
Unfortunately we do not offer internships. At Manta Diving Lanzarote we pride ourselves on giving the best training possible. We cannot provide this training for free. So all our divemaster courses are paid to ensure you become the best SSI professional possible, so that you are ready to work in the dive industry.
Unfortunately we are not a hotel, however we will do our best to help you find some! We can also request prices from the Costa Volcan Spa and THB Flora and San Francisco II for you. Alternatively you can look on Airbnb for a long term rental within Puerto Del Carmen.
