2. Water sports at Playa Chica
At Playa Chica, in the old town of Puerto Del Carmen you will find Paracraft Lanzarote. They offer a huge choice of watersports including Jetskis, Parascending and Crazy UFO!Â
3. Beach Day at Playa Grande
Playa Grande is one of the main beaches in Puerto Del Carmen. It’s a great place to spend the day as a family. There’s sunbeds and parasols available to hire, as well as pedalos with slides!Â
4. Visit the old town harbour
In the old town you will find the harbour and here there are an abundance of restaurants, overlooking the sea! Take your pick and try some local cuisine. Our favourites include garlic prawns and the fried cheese with jam.Â
5. Hike to Puerto Calero
There’s a fantastic coastal trail from the harbour of Puerto Del Carmen all the way to Puerto Calero. It takes around 45 minutes, although maybe an hour with plenty of photo breaks! We love to walk there and grab the water taxi back.
Top tips: wear trainers, go early in the morning, and don’t forget your suncream!Â
6. Retail therapy!
If you fancy getting some shopping in while you are here, head to the Centro Comercial Biosfera. There’s plenty of shops on offer including Zara, Guess, Springfield and Ale-Hop.
For the kids, head to the top floor and you will find mini golf, open air cinema and a soft play in the Lost World restaurant.Â
7. Watch the sunset
One of favourite views, even after all these years living here is to watch the sunset as the sun falls behind the volcanos in the south. Watching the sunset from Playa Grande Beach or from the Puerto Calero trail is a sensory experience that transcends time, a moment of pure magic where the sky transforms into a canvas painted with hues of gold, orange, and pink.
8. Rancho Texas
Looking for a day out with the kids? Rancho Texas is a combination of animal park and water park and a great day out for all the family. Spend the morning exploring and seeing the animals and then when it gets too hot head to cool off in the water park!Â
If you are staying in Puerto Del Carmen, you can get a taxi there for around 5-10€.Â
9. SUP - Stand Up Paddle Boarding
Take a stand up paddle lesson and enjoy the diverse landscapes from the sea. Learn rowing techniques to move in the ocean, enjoy the view, and have fun! By exploring from a SUP board, it allows you to explore little-known places where marine life reigns and have unique views of Puerto del Carmen.
10. Snorkelling in Playa Chica
The best place to snorkel in Lanzarote? It’s right here in Puerto Del Carmen, Playa Chica! Grab your mask and snorkel and head in from the beach, swim close to the rocks to experience the marine life! Parrotfish, sea breams, damselfish, flounders are just some of the things waiting for you!Â
